Central Fresno Neighborhood Trust

With Lowell CDC

We met the Lowell CDC team in 2021 and worked together through 2021 and to create the Central Fresno Neighborhood Trust (CFNT) which launched in 2022. CFNT serves a collection of historic, walkable neighborhoods in Fresno, CA that are close to downtown and the historic Tower District. These neighborhoods are home to significant Latina(o) and immigrant communities. CFNT is between downtown, Fresno City College, and higher income neighborhoods. Alongside the efforts of residents to secure public investments, renovate properties, and increase quality of life in the neighborhood, higher rents and fears of displacement are also present. New investments such as California’s high speed rail and the Transform Fresno initiative are anticipated to bring additional economic growth to a City that in 2022, already experienced some of the highest rent growths in the nation, creating immediate displacement risk alongside longer-term worries of rising rents. CFNT serves as strong housing tool to preserve housing units at affordable rates among residents’ fears of displacement.

CFNT works in partnership with a coalition of neighborhood organizations through the Fresno Community & Economic Development Partnership (CEDP) that together serve near downtown Fresno neighborhoods
